The School of Business and Technology at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) seeks a full-time faculty member in Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing. The successful candidate faculty candidate will hold a master’s degree in a field related to the cosmetics and fragrance industry or in the process of obtaining a master’s degree in a field related to the cosmetics and fragrance industry as well as 10+ years of experience, technical product development with business and marketing skills, and the ability to identify opportunities for research projects in the beauty industry. The candidate is expected to take part in shared governance, curriculum development and recruitment. Responsibilities for the position will include teaching, overseeing the college’s cosmetics and fragrance laboratory ( with support of laboratory technician), mentoring students, supporting adjuncts, and building strong partnerships with industry.
In addition to excellent professional credentials, the candidate should demonstrate experience in teaching and/or corporate training, scholarly research, trade article publication, industry keynotes, and the ability to produce innovative curriculum.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a desire to participate in department and college-wide committee work, and most importantly display a passion for the cosmetics and fragrance industry with the ability to convey this excitement to students at the undergraduate level.

Technology
Demonstrate ability to apply the latest technologies to enhance learning and teaching including proficiency in PC or MAC-based operating systems,Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote, and the Adobe Suite.
Incorporate programs provided by the SUNY Learning Network (SLN) in the classroom and in online and blended classes. Attend workshops and seminars, and other educational opportunities offered to/for FIT faculty.
Provide students with the knowledge of the latest technologies used by the cosmetics and fragrance industries. Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must have a Master’s degree in a field related to the cosmetics and fragrance industry or in the process of obtaining a master’s degree in a field related to the cosmetics and fragrance industry, relevant industry experience (10+ years), teaching and/or relevant corporate training experience, and a demonstrated passion for the professional development of students interested in a career in this field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated professional achievement in the cosmetics and fragrance field with success in industry training and presentations and/or teaching in a university environment, and mentorship.
Strong preference will be given to candidates with global experience in the field.
Physical and mental requirements
This position will be required to constantly read and comprehend, occasionally perform calculations, constantly verbally communicate, frequently analyze, and constantly write. The working conditions for this position will be any combination of the classroom, lab, and/or office space. Certain roles may be required to handle machinery and chemicals. The physical requirement for this position will require occasional sitting, constant standing, occasional bending, frequent walking, and occasionally lifting 10 lbs. or less.
