I’m always on the lookout for a new foundation, especially when the one I’m using is on its last legs (even if I do have a few more left to choose from). Plus I can’t help myself when I see rumours floating about on the blogosphere about the launch of a new product. I haven’t tried a Maybelline foundation in a couple of years and they seem to be really upping their game so I was interested in giving this a try.
This foundation in particular is supposed to not only look good whilst on the skin, but actually do your skin good at the same time. This isn’t a shock to the foundation market as there have been other foundations with skin improving properties but none that are quite so affordable.
I read a couple of reviews on this saying it doesn’t complement oily skin but I do have oily skin and I was very happy with the way this lasted on me personally. The above picture was taken when I got home from work, after over 12 hours of wear, with no touch ups throughout the day so I was very pleased with the way this wore.
As for coverage, I’d say this is a lovely medium coverage but having said that, it feels really light on the skin. I wore this foundation every day for a week and I found it very comfortable. The real test for me is if a foundation sinks into my ‘laugh lines’ over the course of the day and I didn’t find that this did so that is a huge bonus. This foundation blended really well and had a semi matte finish which I really liked.
As you can see above, it evens out the skin tone beautifully without looking cakey and my freckles still show through ever so slightly, ensuring it still looks natural. As for any weird smells, I found nothing unpleasant about this foundation and I would recommend anyone to go and get it as the quality is up there with some of the high end face products I have tried, for a fraction of the price.
Packaging is a big deal breaker for me and this product pretty much ticked all the boxes. Nice lightweight bottle, bit of colour to help it stand out among other similar bottles, a pump and a lid. Maybelline got it spot on with this in my opinion!
If anyone has tried this, I’d love to know what you think of it!
