I believe it is every beauty bloggers right of passage to show off their make-up collection and storage. Especially to give readers an idea of the kinds of products we like to use, as well as maybe offering some tips and advice on how to store your make-up which seems to be a constant battle with an ever growing collection! So that is exactly what I’m going to do today
I first started to store my make-up in the clear acrylic boxes you can see sitting on top of the chest of drawers I have. These are actually really popular within the beauty community as it makes it so easy to keep things organised and the best thing is, you can see everything inside! You can buy them here in all different sizes but I bought mine from Selfridges at the Trafford Centre. In the acrylic drawers on the right, I keep an assortment of blushers in the bottom drawer and some of my more expensive small palettes in the top drawer. In the drawers on the right hand side, I keep some random eye shadows in the top drawer and in the other 2 drawers, I keep some bronzing and highlighting products. In a separate container, I keep all of my foundations where they sit on top of the muji drawers on the right.
Once my collection grew even more, it was time to invest in a chest of drawers that would easily store everything, with enough space for me to expand my collection in the future (which was pretty inevitable). The chest of drawers I chose to buy was the MALM from Ikea as it was fairly priced and offered plenty of space, with lots of different compartments. This is available to buy from here.
The top row of drawers is split into two making it easier to compartmentalise everything. In the top left hand drawer I keep most of my lip products and some random eye shadows and pigments towards the back which haven’t found a home elsewhere.
In the right hand drawer I keep the majority of my larger palettes such as my MAC 15 pan palettes, of which I have 3, numerous Urban Decay palettes and also my fake eyelashes.
In the second drawer, this is a bit of a random selection of my most used products. On the left hand side we have some blushers, moving across to eyeliners and lipliners and then on the far end, there is a box of miscellaneous products that I’m in the process of trying along with my every day make-up bag. Along the top is a selection of bronzers and a couple of high end eyeshadow palettes, with a selection of make-up brushes in the polkadot case.
In the drawer below that, I keep most of my face products and body lotions, along with make-up wipes and my Sigma cleansing and polishing tool. I find that this is the easiest way to store everything so I know where it all is if ever I need it!
If you have any more suggestions on how to keep your make-up collection organised, feel free to leave me a comment or tweet me at @beasbeautyblog.
