Review: Bobbi Brown Nude Eye Palette

I’ll be honest and say I don’t own many Bobbi Brown products. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to. But I am a student and so have limited funds! You know how it is. However, when I saw the launch of the Nude Glow collection, I knew I had to have something.

So I decided to pick up the Nude Eye Palette for a respectable £35. To me, Bobbi Brown just screams quality and as of yet, I’ve not had any bad experiences with any of their product range so I was expecting good things from this.

You will probably agree that this palette is simply stunning to look at. The packaging gets a 10/10 for me as they switched it up a bit from the usual glossy black exterior in exchange for a classy mirrored silver case with a mirror on the inside lid where 4 fairly sized eyeshadows proudly sat inside.

As you can see, there are 2 matte eyeshadows and 2 glittery ones. The matte shades are very subtle and look lovely if you’re trying to create a look that’s a little more understated and sophisticated. For anyone that is really into bright colours, this might not be for you as all of the collection is based around colours just like these. But for the ladies who like just a little bit of something, this would be perfect for you.

Above are the swatches of all 4 colours side by side. As far as pigmentation goes, these 4 colours are a little on the sheer side for my liking. Having said that, I have worn these a couple of times (see my Taupe Sparkle post here) and I loved the way they looked together. I find that the glitter shadows are best worn with a coloured eyeshadow primer such as a MAC paint pot or a Maybelline colour tattoo underneath. They show up as a pink and a taupe toned glitter in the palette but transferred on the skin, you get none of this colour pay off, all you get is the glitter. But over the top of a primer, they are beautiful. I feel like that’s the best way to get the most out of them.

Overall, I believe these shadows are best suited to mature ladies, due to the light pigmentation and lighter colour options. However, I do believe I will be getting a lot of use out of this palette for times where I feel like I want to be a bit fancy :).

Oh I can definitely relate, I have very few “high end” items, gotta love those budgets! Looks pretty though!
