So Avon finally know what’s good for them and have brought out a CC cream to compete with seemingly every other brand in the beauty industry. After the launch of their BB cream last year, I anticipated it’s CC sister wouldn’t be too far behind, but to wait an entire year? Tease! I was interested to see how Avon would get on with this as I am yet to find a CC cream that I like so I thought maybe Avon would be able to fill in the gaps for me.
The packaging is exactly the same as the BB cream which earns bonus points for me as (if I’m being particularly organised) I like to keep certain products from the same brand together, so all Nars blushers and all MAC foundations go in the same place etc etc. This way my storage space is neater, and I can differentiate between products easier.
I bought the CC cream in the colour Shell which I think is actually a bit too light for me. So maybe a shade darker would have suited me a little better. When I first tried this, I applied it using a Sigma flat top kabuki brush as I felt that was the best way to blend it. One thing I will say is I really liked the finish. It didn’t feel sticky or tacky to touch afterwards like some CC creams can, it just sat nicely on the skin.
For me, at this time of year, I personally wouldn’t get much use out of this because there is next to no coverage with this product. I’m a girl that gets the occasional spot, I have redness, I have things I’d like to cover up. This unfortunately didn’t tick that particular box for me. However, some may find this a nice base underneath a heavier coverage foundation.
This product has an SPF of 50, making this the ideal product to take away on holiday with you, which is exactly what I will be doing this year when I go to Las Vegas.
I used this over the weekend so 2 days consecutively and the morning after the 2nd day, I woke up with breakouts on my chin and around my nose which I haven’t had for a while now. The only new product I have introduced to my daily routine would have been this so whether this is what caused it, I’m not sure but I stopped using it and now my skin has cleared up again after a heavy bout of cleansing, toning and moisturising!
Overall, I would recommend you try this product if you are planning a summer holiday. This would make a nice sun protectant during the day whilst evening out your skin tone at the same time, if you aren’t prone to problem skin. If you do have problem or sensitive skin, I would probably stay away from this, just because it may have been the cause of my breakout. Of course that’s not to say you will have the same issue!
Have you tried this product or the BB cream from Avon? If you have, I’d love to know your thoughts on them! Let me know in the comments or feel free to tweet me at @beasbeautyblog. I love to hear others’ opinions! :)
Thanks for reading!

I am always put off BB/CC creams as I just think the coverage may not be enough, but this sounds ideal for summer! Lovely review :)

That’s my issue with them too, I like at least a medium coverage from a foundation so I only really use them on holiday :) xx
I like the idea of a bb or cc cream but i just never find they have enough coverage!
