My Current Skin Care Regime

Skin care is something that occasionally slips our minds for a number of reasons, whether it be laziness or just a lack of knowledge about what our skin needs to be in the best condition it can be. Throughout my teens, I had hardly any confidence when it came to my skin as I pretty much constantly had spots and had no idea how to get rid of them. I was prescribed with different tablets, none of which worked. What I really needed to know was the basics about skin care, how to treat break outs and prevent them from coming back.

This is something I learnt in my late teens and I developed a regime which helped my skin to no end. I stuck to this regime religiously and saw an improvement in my skin in a really short time. These are the products I am currently using:

skincare products (1280x853)

A couple of these are expensive and a couple can be found on the high street which is handy for me as I rarely have the funds to splash out on high end skin care unless I know it will work.

So. I get up in the morning and head to the bathroom to mark the start of my skin care regime. I don’t do the full cleanse/tone/moisturise fiasco first thing in the morning. Instead, I use the Morning Energy shine control facial lotion by Clean and Clear which I find really helps to keep my oily skin under wraps before applying my make-up for the day.

When I’m ready to take my make-up off at the end of the day, I use the SkinActive 5 in 1 cleansing wipes to remove most of it. I then take the Purity cleansing lotion from Philosophy (I’m trying to make the most of this little sample size I got in a Glossybox) and massage it into my skin, then wiping off with a warm damp face cloth. I then apply Garnier’s Fresh Essentials Toner on a cotton pad and wipe my face, getting rid of the remainders of make-up. I enjoy this step the most I think as it always makes me feel so much more refreshed.

A moisturiser I’ve been enjoying lately is the Aqua Complete Moisturiser from Lacura as it feels so nice and light on the skin. I don’t like using moisturisers that are too heavy as my skin is naturally very oily and rather than soak it up, it just kind of sits on my skin. My final step is to apply my favourite eye cream, It’s Potent by Benefit, dabbing it just underneath my eyes, ensuring I look slightly more human than zombie when I wake up the next morning!

I’m on the look out for a couple of new products to try as I like to switch up the things I use every now and again. If you have any recommendations, let me know in the comments or tweet me at @beasbeautyblog.

Thanks for reading!

This is a very helpful post. I really need to create a proper skin care routine but since I don’t have loads of money to spend I don’t really go out to buy things. Also, there are so many products how am I supposed to pick!? Have a great day, Vero :)

    Fab post!

And you’re right, the Garnier toner is great. I love how it doesn’t contain alcohol and it isn’t drying on my skin :-)
