Nars Eyeshadow Duo’s

Nars is one of those brands that just screams quality and luxury. They have built this fantastic reputation with celebrity clientele to match, often being at the forefront of the latest trends in the beauty industry. Nars have a large product range, with much of it coming in a variety of shades to suit all skin tones, eye colours and hair colours. One product that I have been particularly interested in is their eyeshadow duos.

The three I own, from left to right are: Alhambra, Kuala Lumpur and Kalahari.

One thing I will say for these products is that I absolutely love their names. It is so much better when you are able to identify a product by a name that is a little more creative rather than just using a number or labelling them with the generic primary colours.

In More Detail

Alhambra

alhambra (1280x853)

alhambra swatch (1280x853)This might sound weird to some people but I consider this particular duo to be my ‘lucky eyeshadow’.  I’m not sure why but I’ve worn both of these eyeshadows to interviews, exams and my first day at work. I don’t know what it is about this duo that makes me want to wear it to such occasions! I would say these are progbably the most pigmented out of the 3 duos that I own which is disappointing as the colours are so pale anyway.

Kuala Lumpur

kuala lumpa (1280x853)

kuala lumpa swatch (1280x853)This is the most recent addition to the bunch. It was actually a toss up between this one and Violetta but after seeing them in person, I knew I wanted this one as the colours just looked gorgeous in the packaging. As you can see, the swatches leave be desired as the pigmentation is pretty poor. I would compare these two shades to Expensive Pink and Trax by MAC to give you an idea of some similar shades.

Kalahari

kalahari (1280x853)

kalahari swatch (1280x853)This duo disappointed me the most out of them all. I had to do some serious rubbing to get these swatches to show up so you can only imagine how sheer they look on your eyes. The colours are gorgeous but the quality in pigmentation just isn’t there which is such a shame because Nars have so many amazing products such as their multiples, blushers and bronzers which have won award after award.

Overall, if you are looking for eyeshadows that will offer optimum pigmentation, buttery texture and 12 hour wear time, these aren’t them and for £25 each, I’m afraid they simply aren’t worth it.

Do you own any Nars duos? If so, I’d love to know your thoughts on them.

Thanks for reading!

I always assumed these were nice, but never bothered buying one. I’m curious to swatch them and see how they feel. Lovely colors though!
