March Favourites

March is usually the month where we all start switching up our make-up routine to suit the brighter, warmer weather that will hopefully start coming our way in the next couple of months. This month it’s out with the dark lippies and cool toned eyeshadows and in with the light and bright hues that comes with Spring. Hair is getting lighter and skin is getting darker in the lead up to Summer, all 3 days of it here in England! But nevertheless, we are making the necessary changes to adapt.

There aren’t many this month but these are the ones I’ve been getting lots of use out of recently.

This Works:Sleep- I’m not a great sleeper. I never have been. I don’t know why but some nights, I just can’t settle and I end up getting to sleep at 3 in the morning which isn’t great when I have to be up for work at 6:30! So when I did the Valentines Box Swap in February, you can imagine how happy I was to receive the this works: sleep pillow spray from my Valentine, Rachel. I just got a little sample size and I have been using this every night to help me drift off to sleep and it’s actually been helping!

Sleek Garden of Eden Palette- I have been absolutely loving this palette! I used this to create my St Patrick’s Day make-up look which turned out really nice, if I do say so myself! The colours in this palette are one’s that I use regularly anyway so to find them all in one palette was perfect. I’ve been a lover of Sleek’s eyeshadow palettes for a long time so to find another which I love was no surprise.

Nars Multiple in Maldives- Now that the weather is getting a bit brighter, I’ve been enjoying using this multiple from Nars as a nice subtle cream highlight, especially during the day to just brighten up my make-up look and add a healthy glow when I don’t feel like looking so done up. I’m also looking forward to getting my hands on one of the new matte multiples that they have brought out.

Tea Tree Oil- This is a product that I bought ages ago and used to love but I lost it! So whilst I was rooting around in my toiletries drawer, I found this and started using it again which reminded me of how much I like it. I dab some of this on a cotton pad and dab it onto sensitive areas of my skin or on any break outs and it helps to keep redness down and heals any blemishes a bit quicker.

MAC Lipstick in Modesty- This is a colour that is just like ‘your lips but better’ and in true MAC nature, it smells just like vanilla and feels lovely and creamy on the lips. I can imagine this would also look really nice on darker skin tones as it would look more of a pink nude which complements everyone!

Divine Shimmer Powder by Bella Pierre- I got this shimmer powder in this months Glossybox and ever since, I have been loving it. It is the most beautiful colour! In some lights it is pure pink and in others it has this gorgeous gold hue. I’ve been finding it easiest to apply this using a bit of Fix+ on a flat synthetic brush to get the most out of the pigment.
