In recent weeks, I have become a little obsessed with bronzers now that the weather is getting warmer. Gone is the heavy contour that I associate with Winter and incoming is the glowy beautiful complexions that we all know and love comes along with Summer. Everyone knows I love my Bourjois Delice De Poudre bronzer which I have been using now for god knows how long but I wanted to shake it up a bit and try a few others from different brands. I saw this advertised in the Avon First Look book a few weeks back so I thought I would give it a try.
The Luxe range from Avon was launched a while ago now and they, little by little, keep adding products to the range which I love as I can always look forward to seeing something new. The packaging straight away reminds me of Estee Lauder with the gold exterior but it is whether what’s inside lives up to the Luxe name. For me, the packaging actually feels a little bit cheap. It feels a tad bulky and it’s just a bit unnecessary to me but that didn’t put me off using it at all, it just isn’t as practical as I would like for storage purposes.
The product inside is actually very nice. The bronzer itself has a hint of shimmer to it so it wouldn’t be ideal for contouring. As for pigmentation, a little goes a long way, especially on my fair skin. My skintone is around an NW20 so this gives my skin a nice glow without showing as too orange or ashy. It’s definitely on the warmer side but not unpleasantly so as it literally warms the skin up and makes you look like you’ve been on holiday when blended across the cheeks and a little on my forehead and nose.
The texture is really smooth making it very easy to apply. I swirl my powder brush around the compact once, give it a tap on the side to remove any excess and then apply to my cheeks and that’s all it takes. I would suggest making sure your skin is well moisturised before applying this as it could potentially cling to dry patches, as with most bronzers, but overall it is very flattering and I’ve been wearing it a lot recently. You can see me wearing it here to give you an idea of what it looks like on a fair complexion.
Avon update their prices regularly but I believe it is currently available for £7.
Have you tried any of Avon’s Luxe range?
