Hiya :)

 I’m Brittany. A 20 year old marketing student, currently in the middle of my 12 month placement in a Marketing Assistant role (which I’m loving). Ever since I can remember, my nickname has been Bea. God knows why. Pretty sure it stemmed from having my name constantly pronounced wrong (it is Brit-tan-y, not Brit-ney) so I must have just shortened it somewhere down the line! And now everyone just knows me as Bea :)

I live at home with my parents, twin sister (9 minutes younger than me-poor mum) and my dog Billy. I’m from a town called Oldham, just outside of Greater Manchester. I have lived here my whole life and I don’t see that changing any time soon. My family, friends and boyfriend all live here so I don’t fancy uprooting just yet!

Which brings me to University. I am in my third year at Huddersfield University, studying Advertising and Media Relations. It’s pretty good. If you’re a geography wiz (which I’m not) you’ll have worked out that Huddersfield is around 40 minutes away from Oldham, so I made the decision to commute every day, rather than move out whilst I study. Do I regret it? Sometimes yes. I feel as though I have missed out on a huge part of the Uni experience that I’ll never be able to recreate. On the other hand, I have saved myself a heck of a lot of money by continuing to live at home and I’m fortunate enough to have parents which allow me to live there rent free- happy days! Anyway, onto the reason this blog came about.

I Love Make-Up

I love make-up. Like beyond love it. I don’t remember a time when I didn’t but since I was about 16, pretty much every spare penny was spent on make-up. Every Christmas and birthday I have asked for make-up and not much else. It’s safe to say, I am pretty easily pleased. I am no brand snob. When it comes to make-up and other beauty related products, I will try ANYTHING. I can’t walk past Superdrug or Boots without having a quick nosey at the various displays but at the same time, I do have a love for many high end brands and I am certainly not ashamed to admit that I am one of those annoying girls that goes round swatching the life out of a whole display before making my decision. There has been many a time where I have dragged my boyfriend round MAC whilst I chose an eyeshadow or lipstick of some sort!

I have been a fan of watching make-up tutorials on Youtube for quite some time. Before I buy any cosmetics, I have gotten into the habit of finding reviews before I take the plunge. Some of them are too detailed, some not enough, some just don’t help at all!

Many of my friends and family encouraged me to set up my own channel but I didn’t want to be pushed into something that I would go into half hearted. And I never knew how comfortable I would feel in front of a camera in all honesty! But on the other hand, I have always been a competent writer. Since being a little girl, I have loved writing and I write content for various blogs as part of my job. So recently, the thought occurred to me to start a blog and I haven’t been able to get the thought out of my head. So rather than making a New Year’s Resolution (which I never stick to), I thought I would challenge myself a little and what better than combining two of my favourite things?

I pretty much love all things beauty related and am constantly on the look out for new items on the market as well as sharing some of my favourites from time to time.
